As a student of Marino College there are many services provided for you to make use of. A brief description of the services available to students is listed below. If you wish to discuss any of these services you can always contact the SU liaison teacher or guidance counsellor for a confidential chat.
The liaison teacher is always on-hand to provide you with information about any aspect of your student life. If they don’t have the answer you need- they will know the person that does. In some cases they will let you know more about the services listed below and help you set up an initial meeting.
The counselling service is a free confidential service available to all students at Marino College. Eilish O Connor, our college counsellor, offers an opportunity to talk in confidence about issues that may concern you. To make an appointment with Eilish, please write your name and contact details on a piece of paper and drop it in the box on the door of her office – room 300. Eilish will make contact within 24 hours.
At Marino College we provide a disability service. Depending on the nature of your disability and the effect it may have on your studies, Marino College can offer a range of valuable learning resources to help you get the most from your time here . Contact Eilish for more information.
The work experience teacher provides a wide range of careers resources and information for all students. These include useful handouts on topics covering all aspects of good career decision making; from job hunting to choosing a course to progress your career as well CVs and personal statements. A meeting can be arranged with your course tutor or the guidance counsellor to discuss your options further.
